The Nadurines celebrate human rights day
Hello friends! Like every month, today we bring you the celebration of another day marked on the calendar . This time it's Human Rights Day ! We always emphasize animals and plants, but humans also have rights that are not always fulfilled throughout the world. Do you want to know more about this day? Here we go!
December 10, Human Rights Day
On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations ; A group of people from different countries who make decisions about peace and security in the world, drafted a very important document on people's rights.
Known as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it established that any person, regardless of the color of their skin, their sex, their religion, the language they speak, their opinion in politics, nationality, age or social class, among others, will have some basic inalienable rights . What a word, huh? And what does that mean? Well, those basic rights, such as having a house and warm clothes, belong to us and we cannot lose them, give them away or sell them. It would be something like our own skin, which is there with us and we cannot get rid of it.
This document is the one that has been translated the most in the world. Do you know how many languages it is available in? In more than 500! We didn't even know that there are so many languages. Are you able to list all the languages you know?
Human rights in the midst of a pandemic
This year 2020 will be unforgettable for the vast majority of us here. Maybe your younger brothers or sisters don't have enough awareness, but a summer at home is not easy to forget! However, what for many of us has only meant spending more time at home and having to wear masks, for other people this crisis has meant much more than that.
When the world stops, the inequalities between those who have a lot and those who have nothing become more notable . The first ones will have some resources to keep going, surely your pantry had plenty of food for the entire confinement! But for those who already had almost nothing, they have seen their meager income frozen. That's why it's important to celebrate Human Rights Day!
But in addition to that, when things are bad or we don't know what will happen in the future, which is known as uncertainty, humans tend to get a little stressed and want to protect what surrounds them. And so, when people come from other countries whose living conditions are much worse than ours, they feel fear and rejection of them. But we cannot forget that they have exactly the same rights as us!
Thus, for this human rights day, the objectives that have been set and that can help us reflect on how we behave are the following:
- Eliminate all discrimination in the world, such as race, so common these days.
- Act against inequalities and protect the rights of any person.
- Promote participation and solidarity . We have already spoken that charity is from the top down and solidarity is from equal to equal. It is everyone's responsibility!
- Fight for sustainable development. In addition to our planet, also for humans!
