¿Sabías qué correr ayuda al desarrollo pulmonar de los más pequeños?

Did you know that running helps the lung development of the little ones?

Did you know that running helps the lung development of the little ones?

We take advantage of the celebration of International Sports Day to remember all the benefits that practicing physical activity has for our body and mind. Something as simple as moving not only makes us feel better, but also promotes our lung development. This way we can shout out loud what our mission is!

The benefits of sport

There are many sports that adapt to all tastes. Those who like wheels have both skating, skateboarding and bicycles. Those who prefer water can practice swimming, surfing or bodyboarding. And for those who prefer sports on firm ground, the possibilities multiply! Football, tennis, martial arts and a long etcetera.

In addition to all these sports, there is another very simple one for which we do not need anything more than our body and a lot of desire. Athleticism! We actually spend a lot of time running during other sports and even when we are playing. We run to fetch the ball, while kicking it, just for fun. Even mom and dad live on the run!

Any of these sports brings us many benefits. It keeps us active and strengthens our muscles and bone structure, we feel better about ourselves and helps us rest at night. But in addition to all that, they help us with lung development. You know what it means?

The importance of lung development

The lungs are one of the largest organs in our body and are also what allow us to breathe and speak. For this reason, lung development allows us to improve these important functions they perform.

In case you are not clear, the lungs are located in our chest or thorax, and being large in size, they occupy practically all the space that is available. The lung that we have on the right side is larger than the left, and this is because on that side we must also leave room for the heart.

When we run frequently, we achieve lung development. But just in case you're thinking about it, it's not about making them so big that they no longer fit on your chest. What we achieve with lung development is to strengthen them so that they work better.

When running or doing some type of activity that speeds up our breathing, the lungs need to take in more air. In this way, they manage to obtain the extra oxygen they demand. As breathing accelerates and its work speed has to increase, lung development occurs. The lungs become stronger and improve their ability to work.

With more developed lungs we will be able to play, jump and sing as much as we want without suffocating or feeling tired. Thanks to this extra dose of energy that lung development gives us, we will be able to continue with our work of caring for the planet.

Although we do not see it with our eyes, lung development is very beneficial for us. And with continued practice we will notice a difference in our resistance. So whenever you get the chance, run!
